Summer Reading Vacation

Hi guys! How is your July going?

Last week, I had a restful and lovely vacation with family. And I caught up on some of my reading!

Here's what I read:

The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green
Charm and Strange, by Stephanie Kuehn
The Rules, by Stacey Kade
Adaptation, by Malinda Lo
Fake ID, by Lamar Giles
The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky
Between Shades of Gray, by Ruta Sepetys

Yep. Almost a book a day. It was soooo wonderful. I usually don't read that fast. In fact, it often takes me weeks to finish one book, if I'm really busy.

How about you? What have you read lately?

Sounds like a great vacation for reading! I have recently read Half Bad -- which had a very promising beginning ... and then ... well, enough said. Right now I'm enjoying Grunge Gods and Graveyards, and I think I will like this one all the way through. Very promising!

You did read a lot! It can take me a month to read just one.

Funnily enough, I just read the Fault in our Stars and posted about it.

All those books must have made for a great vacation :)

Sounds awesome. I really want to read The Fault in Our Stars. I'm reading Salt and Storm right now. Have a whole lot of books I'm hoping to read this summer.

I'm reading a couple of books right now: "The Geography of Bliss", by Eric Weiner, and "Notes on a Rebellion", an indie book by Valentina Hepburn.

What a great list! And what a great vacation to get to read a book a day. le sigh
I've been listening to middle-grade audiobooks for relaxing at night, books by Diana Wynne Jones, Susan Cooper, Patrick Carmen, Suzanne Collins.
Also read Matt de la Pena's The Living and e lockhart's We Were Liars.
So many books, so little time.

My daughter read CONTROL last week (I saved it for after school ended to make sure she studied for exams). We couldn't get her out of her room until she finished. She LOVED it, as I'd expected.
My turn next!
BTW I finally read SWAMPLANDIA-in summer I like to read grown-up books. Now I'm reading THE GHOST OF THE MARY CELESTE by Valerie Martin. I love it.

Very productive Dr., and glad to hear that you had a nice vacation.

I usually don't read fast so I only brought 3 books with me on vacation this year. The kids getting older and me having more drive this year had me quickly finishing the 3 I brought and borrowing or buying 4 more. Five were work-related CJ books, but one was a sic-fi novel and the final one was The Last Lecture.

I've been reading mostly review books for BookPage and SLJ. I just have to laugh because Dianne is reading my book and I'm just about to read hers (The Eighth Day!). I can't wait. The first line is awesome.

They must have been really good books!

Well, I certainly haven't been ripping through my reading that fast. At the moment, I'm in the middle of my book group's selection of the month, Holy Orders by Benjamin Black. Good read.
