I find the idea of telekinesis fun but faulty. How is it scientifically possible? I'm willing to make allowances for fiction, but in real life, I'm not a believer.
Then I saw this game called MindFlex. Looks like Mattel got a leg up on the paranormal universe, heh heh.
So you wear this headband with electrodes attached to your ears and around your head. Supposedly, it reads electrical brain activity and translates that to powering up a tiny fan in the console. Thus, the ball levitates.
We got if for the kids for Christmas. Okay, um. We got it for us too, since we've played it more than they have! I couldn't get it to work for the longest time (not enough caffeine, maybe?). Finally, I started babbling random things to see what would happen.
Check out what gets my mind totally focused and unfocused!
Mental power is full of electricity and magic, I tell you. Use it to good effect for a very productive 2012!

What a fun game! When I was a kid, we used to play the Ouji Board, and I could never get that to work.
@Karen: MAybe that was a good thing.
@Lydia: The mind is truly powerful. Believe posititve things. Postitive things happen. Believe negative things. Negative happens.
That is awesome! I totally need to check out that game. Mattel's got a patent on telekinesis, huh? Who would have thought it?
I think we often underestimate the power of our brain! That's why the sci fi the futuristic stories can be so fun b/c you just never know!
You mentioned cleaning and the ball didn't like it! Yay!! LOL!
Oh what a fun game!! I want!! LOL!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family! Great to hear you and your kids too! Take care
x
Yep, cleaning the house makes my psychic energy peter out, too. I love the way it went spastic when you said outlining, since I know your mad love for that particular task ;)
Any idea how it works?
I've not heard of this game, but it's hilarious. It sure didn't like you cleaning the house.
Hadn't heard of this game. What will they think of next? Happy New Year! :)
I swear I think I'm telekinetic--in a positive way.
I drive a transit bus, so naturally I see near accidents all the time. I've never been involved in one. But I swear I've seen so many accidents that should have happened... I'm thinking I somehow keep them from happening (as well as those who just about barrel into me!)
Sounds like a fun game, and why couldn't we be able to move things with our brain? How does an Ouija board work?
Ooo MindFlex sounds awesome! Happy New Year!
Okay, you got me. Now I have to get this game and check it out.
How cool! There's more to our minds than we realize. :-)
Happy New Year!
I'll definately link back for your Medical Mondays this week. Now off to Twitter to follow #MedMomday.
that is totally bizarre... and hilarious! OMG! I've never seen this game. Must get now. :D
That's sooo weird!!! How does it work?! I don't trust anything that needs to be attached to my brain :P
Hahaha! How weird! Love it.
Love it! Right up there with flashlight light sabers. Well, maybe not.
Have you tried to attach to someone asleep to see if it picks up dream waves?
Heh, cleaning the house is a serious downer! Love this. Now I know that all that stuff on tv medical shows about people who've lost the ability to speak being able to communicate through their minds moving arrows or balls on computer monitors is real. wow.
What a fantastic way to start off 2012. Seriously.
Weird. But, looks like fun.
Totally cool!!
I got this for my daughter's Harry Potter birthday party and we had a lot of fun playing with it for awhile. I think now we have put it away again so I might take it back out. There is some research that indicates that activities like this also help train focus and can have a positive impact on people with ADHD. If anyone ever gets to Pigeon Forge, Tn there is a place called Wonder Works that has a larger version where you move a ball by seeing who can relax their mind the most. It is fascinating stuff.
Sounds like a great game. But with my Wiley E. Coyote luck, I would probably melt the ice caps by accident! LOL. Roland
I love it! The more progress they make with games like this, the more potential they have for incorporating them into therapy for brain injuries.
(mutters softly) besides, this one looks like FUN!
Haha, that's awesome! I bet it would totally do that for me if I thought of cleaning the house. Totally dead.
I squeed a little when I read about this game. How awesome!
Happy New Year.
Awesome! I would love to try that... though I bet the ball would do nothing since my brain feels like it's in slow motion right now. :)
Hah! Outlining, Oreo cookies, and wildebeests. What a great way to start 2012! :D
Happy New Year Lydia! You better be careful messing with your brain! Fascinating isn't it?
Just checked out #MedMonday on twitter.
Thanks for the service re questions you continue to provide.
Denise
My son would love that game. Better not tell him about it :-)
Happy New Year and happy new game! It's interesting to me that you had to say what you thought out loud for it to work. I've always believed that prayers should be said out loud to give then more power, hence "say" your prayers, not "think" your prayers.
I noticed when you said, "Oh, God," the ball went up. When you thought about housework the ball plunged! Very interesting!

Happy New Year!
That's so cool! So it actually works? I've heard of MindFlex but I'm always skeptical about that kind of stuff. Haha. I love how the ball drops when you say "I have to clean the house." LOL. Also, I finally know what you sound like!
That was hilarious! Loved that it popped back up over Oreo cookies. I definitely believe that our energy is a force...good or bad. Happy New Year!!
I love how it sounded like it was powering down when you mentioned cleaning the house!
Soundtrack of my brain :)
Oooh, I want one of these! Have fun with it. Happy 2012.
I'm fascinated with the whole concept of telekenisis.
......dhole
Wow! I've never heard of it. Cool.
fun! oreos get my mojo going too:)
wow! Does it play with magnitism?
Is there a magnet inside the ball that repels another once the game begins?
Ha, glad you all are in touch with your "unexplained" side.
The kids enjoy something similar at a science museum that involves trying to mentally push a ball into a hole before your opponent does.
lol...What happened when you thought about cleaning the house?
Yeah, cleaning the house zaps my brain, too! Happy New Year, Lydia!
I like the sound of this game. In one of my stories a ghost is taught this skill; I had a lot of fun with Telekinetics :)
Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year, Lydia.
Hahaha! Sweet!
That is SO awesome!!! And happy new year to you too!
Oreo cookies and twinkies, no house cleaning. It seems easy enough. My kids have this game (or whatever it is called), but I have never tried it. I will now. I can only hope I do not get as obsessed with this as I did their wii. Happy New Year.
The power of telekenesis is too cool. I'm writing a manuscript where the characters have that power. I'm living vicariously through them...
My kids wanted that too!!!
It looks very cool!
Do you recommend it?
ha ha ha. That is so cute and hilarious. I want one now.
I have telekinesis in one of my WIPs. It's as close to being a Jedi as I can get.
Super cool toy. Telekinesis has always fascinated me.
Wonderful blog & good post. Its really helpful for me, awaiting for more new post. Keep Blogging!
