Pat Your Back Party

Blogging is a mixed bag of experiences. You make new friends. You get to practice your writing skills. You get to blow steam.

I've met so many great people in the blogosphere in the last few months, and I wanted to have a little cyber party here.

I've been blogging for almost four months now. I hear that it's a big hurdle to just blog consistently for three months after you start. So I'm popping a little bottle of bubbly (Fresca, okay. I've a low tolerance!)

What blogging accomplishment are you proud of? A new layout? The fact that you simply have one? Been blogging for a month? Or two years? Made it to 50 followers? 500?

Dish!

I reckon I'm pleased to have the impression that people are at least mildly entertained by my posts.

Congrats on your four month blog-anniversary!

Yay for you! I'm with ya: I love the friends I've made.

Congrats Lydia! My aim is to make it to 1000 followers and then I'll publish BirthRight via e-books *grin* I want to do it in as 'viable & sensible' way as poss :)

I've been blogging for THREE months today and I'm proud to say I haven't missed a day yet.

I still get excited when I earn a new follower. I still love reading every comment. I've met so many fabulous people and heard about tons of books I might not have otherwise discovered. I wish I'd found blogging years ago.

Congrats on 4 months!! That's awesome!

Congratulations!!!

I can be proud of a lot of things - in two weeks, I will complete two years of blogging with only one day missed. I have got a new layout that I think represents what my blog is about. And I have far, far more followers than I ever thought I would have.

Can I sip some of your bubbly?

Congrats to you!! On July 6th, I'll have been blogging 4 years-- thinking about getting them printed off from Blog2print just so I can go back and read for progress:)

I'm just proud of the fact that Ducks Out Of A Row actually makes people laugh. It is such a great feeling when people comment to say that they've been entertained and I always love seeing a new follower. Those things -- and also finding new blogger friends -- definitely make it worth it to me.

Congratulations on the 4 month anniversary! I hope you have MANY more... :)

Congratulations, Lydia. =o)

I can't believe it, but I've been at this blogging thing since 12/2/06. Almost four years, two title changes, innumerable templates, and a total shift to a new URL later, I'm finally feeling settled in my blog skin. I guess I'm just proud that I've kept at it and built a small following of great people.

Two years blogging here, and I love the amazing friends who stop by and talk a bit, sharing their stories!

Congrats, Lydia!!

I'm just happy people care about what I think. That's the most humbling, and surprising, part of this whole experience. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Except chocolate. :D

Congrats for four months. I am just pleased I have been able to remember my own password!

I've been blogging since Sept 2007 I think. I'm up to 184 followers!!! I'm really proud of it (although my husband thinks its a little silly)

Jamie Grey said...

Yay! Congrats on your blogiversary! I'm so glad I found your blog :)

I think I'm most proud of the fact that I've finally gotten serious about the blog and have posted regularly (3-4x/week) for months now! Hopefully I can keep it up! (I never realized how hard it can be to come up with topics!)

Have a great weekend!

I guess my biggest acomplishment is meeting so many wonderful people, who support one another constantly. Its a true blessing!

Stephanie McGee said...

Congrats!

I was thrilled when I got my first follower. And when more followed, that just blew my mind. Now I've been consistently blogging for over a year and highly value the friendships I've formed. That first time I got a comment, too, was elating.

Woohoo! Congratulations, Lydia! That is indeed a big stepping stone and I hope you blog for a long time to come.

For me, it's been figuring out exactly what it is that I want to blog about and trying to keep things smooth and running.

I didn't realize that 3 months is a kind of hump for blogging. Your blog is awesome, I'm glad your continuing & hope you continue for many months to come! I'm patting myself on the back because after a year I still have ideas to post about lol! And I'm not bored with it yet!

I'm just happy when I have time to get a post up every weekday. :D

Melody said...

Well, I posted every day (barring weekends) in June and April, and almost that much in May, too. (The blog's been running since December.) And I have people following that I DON'T EVEN KNOW! It's wild. And lovely. :)

Ted Cross said...

I'm just happy to have some real, live people actually read my blog! It was so much harder when it felt like I was writing just for myself.

Abby said...

Congratulations on blogging for 4 months! Consistency is so hard sometimes. I'll have my bubbly mixed with orange juice, please.

I am proud of my new URL. Changed it to something more poetic/inspirational.

Liza said...

Congratulations Lydia! Keep it up! I'm proud that I've planted my bottom in the chair for seventeen months now and blogged, and I'm proud of the other projects that my blogging has introduced. Most of all though, I am grateful for the support of readers who take time to offer constructive criticism that helps me grow as a writer.

Look at you, only four months and like the queen of the blogosphere. I've been blogging for over a year and I don't have half as many followers as you! You go girl!

Oh, but I'm supposed to pat my own back? Well, I just got a story published at Lightning Flash Magazine. Yippee!!!

I've only been blogging for a few months too, and I guess proud isn't the right word but I'm pleased to have met so many great people and to have become a part of such a wonderful, supportive community of writers.

Hi Lydia... I have been blogging for three months. I am proud of having connected with many writers who have become blogging buddies and hope to connect with more in the future.

I'm pleased that I've been able to create an (almost) regular blogging schedule. And that I'm getting comments on every post! I know, small fries :).

Blogging makes me accountable. I can't give up. Especially since I have a following. They are my muse in a way. They inspire me.

I love meeting new people who come to my blog and comment. And I'm patting myself on the back for my new layout, even though it took me a few tries to find the right one.

Happy four months anniversary, Lydia!

I love the blogging community because of the wonderful people I've met and the supportive encouragements I've received. It's such a wonderful thing.

Hi Lydia,

Pass the glass and let's party!

I'm loving the blogging-thingy - getting to know people I wouldn't ordinarily meet and converse with except by pure chance, maybe, at an airport/train/boat terminal or on board either one of above modes of transport.

The Internet has no doubt about it, provided for global village communities, and the more writers we meet up with the better I say!

Congratulations on your blogging milestone. Well Done!!!

I am just thrilled to have a few people who will take the time to read my musings and then make such wonderful supportive comments. It does the feeble heart good!

I've learned so much from blogging and met so many great people. I love the blogosphere!

Congrats!
I'm thinking it's a good thing to sit down and write regularly. I also like feeling a little more tech savvy.
Making electronic-pen-pal-friends along the way is a plus too. I especially like it when those friends go on adventures or live in different countries. We get to watch what's going on, like being a fly on the wall without being a pest. :)

Mayowa said...

Congratulations Lydia.

Blogging has been great. Knowing that there are writers who have the same fears and faith, same struggles and successes really helps.

It also doesn't hurt that a few folks actually listen to my endless rants now :)

Alexandra Crocodile said...

I have a little something for you on my blog! Hope you have a nice day:)

WritingNut said...

Congratulations on making it this far Lydia! I've heard that too about the 3 months!

I've been blogging consistently for exactly one month now (even though I made the blog a year ago), and am getting close to 100 followers and I STILL can't believe it.

I'm sad I didn't start becoming more involved earlier--I was just lurking for so long, and I missed out on so much!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Krispy said...

So weird you decided to have this party today because we hit 100 posts over at A Nudge today!!!

I've only been blogging consistently since February, though my blog has been around for like...I don't know, over a year? But yeah, it's amazing how many people you come across through blogging. Fun times!

Congrats on your blogging milestone, and happy 4th of July!!!

Julie Musil said...

Lydia, what a great idea! I love this blogging community too. I can't believe how much I've learned along the way.

I'm new to blogging too, only 3 months. I guess I'm surprised that I've had something to say. I thought I wouldn't have a single idea to blog about, and yet my ideas list is full.

A big congratulations to you on YOUR blogging accomplishments.

I love blogging. I was supposed to take the week off, but missed all the love and support in my inbox (where my comments go). I'm proud of my template . . . it's perfect for my novel. And I'm excited that I've exceeded the 250 follower mark. :D

Thanks for the great party, Lydia. Oh, look, Candyland's over there. I want to say 'hi' to her. ;)

i'm most proud of getting comfortable leaving comments and interacting with people in my comments. i'm so old school. i've been so tone deaf in so many emails that i didn't really trust myself when i first started blogging last year, so i wrote in private for many months. it's an amazing thing to participate in authentic interaction online. glad to be here. lots of fun. whoda thunk it?:)

Congrats to you on your success!

I think the thing I am most pleased with is the blogging friends I've made. The support is just incredible.

Happy 4th,
Karen :)

Congrats on four months of excellent blogging! You are a shooting star. :)
I've been doing this about a year and am amazed at how much I love it, mostly because I've met so many great people and learned so much from them. Here's to many more wonderful posts. Cheers!

Faith said...

Four months, congrats! You've done a great job of finding your blogging niche and carving out a space :)

I don't have many bloggy things to celebrate... I've had difficulty getting both followers and traffic due to some issues with Wordpress BUT... I guess I could pat my own back and say that I've been sporadically blogging for about 4 years (with one hack that destroyed 2 years worth of posts... yikes!).

So that's something! I'll raise a glass with you :)

I just recently finished a full year of blogging which I was really happy about! And I've made so many friends, it's great.

Hi Lydia - I started blogging just 3 months ago - and I love it a lot :=))
I meet so many interesting people all around the world (I'm German) and I discovered my love for writing and with my blog, I have a platform to do it - and I never run out of ideas for new posts. I don't care much about followers - I just enjoy it "for love of the game"
Nice to meet you! Claudia

Congrats on your blogging success! And, honestly, I STILL don't know how you do it with family, life and a medical practice all in the mix :)

Keep it up; you're my inspiration.

WTG and here's to the next four months.

I am coming up on my 100th post this weekend and that makes me perversely proud of myself.

My following is still very small, but I am proud that I have a handful of people that I DON'T know that check in almost every day.

Also, I've had three readers send in pics for inclusion in the blog and that is my biggest preeny accomplishment. I was absurdly pleased when someone wrote, "I saw this and thought of your blog."
